Modern slavery is one of the most serious human rights issues of our time, yet it remains hidden in many industries worldwide. Millions of people experience exploitation through forced labour, trafficking, debt bondage and other forms of coercion. Raising awareness is the first step to recognising, preventing and eliminating this issue, which is why our modern slavery training gives learners practical knowledge and clear strategies to take action.

This course introduces the definitions, causes and global impact of modern slavery. First, you will explore how poverty, greed, cultural practices and organised crime allow exploitation to continue, even where laws exist. Next, you will examine the national and international legislation designed to combat slavery and trafficking, and the course highlights the responsibilities of individuals, employers and governments in addressing the problem.

You will also study the different forms of modern slavery, including chattel slavery, state-enforced labour, human trafficking, forced marriage, child exploitation, organ trade and occupational slavery. By completing this training, delivered across 4 modules and around 2.5 hours of learning, you will learn how to recognise the signs of modern slavery, understand its consequences, and see why early reporting is essential.

This modern slavery training covers:

  • The definition and causes of modern slavery
  • Key international and national laws addressing slavery and trafficking
  • The different forms of modern slavery and how they operate
  • How governments, organisations and individuals can help fight exploitation
  • Strategies to raise awareness and take preventative action

This course is part of our Administration & HR training range and also counts towards our CPD courses collection.
