This interesting and wide-ranging anxiety awareness training introduces students to the causes, symptoms and treatments of anxiety. It is ideal for individuals working in medical or social work professions who want to expand their knowledge of the condition and make a positive difference to those affected by it.
Alternatively, you may have a member of staff who is struggling with anxiety and wish to provide them with support during a difficult time.
The course covers:
- What anxiety is, its key triggers (psychological, physiological and personal) and common symptoms
- An overview of different anxiety conditions, including panic attacks, PTSD, generalised anxiety disorder (GAD) and obsessive-compulsive disorder, with their symptoms and treatments
- How anxiety affects individuals differently, including acute versus chronic conditions and emotional versus physical effects
- Different interventions for anxiety, from traditional treatments such as medication and psychological therapy to alternatives such as meditation, yoga and counselling
- Tips on how to support others suffering from anxiety and recognise the signs of its onset
- A guide to clinics and medical institutions that support people with anxiety
