Mobile phones are one of the primary technological advances of the 21st century. Not only have they increased social networking and changed the way humans communicate, they also serve as an effective form of personal security — in an emergency, or when travelling alone, a mobile device can help a driver have a more efficient journey. However, using a handheld device while driving is dangerous, illegal, and can often lead to injuries or fatalities. It is important to understand the risks associated with using a mobile device behind the wheel, to avoid these potentially hazardous situations.
This course provides a thorough understanding of the dangers a driver faces when using a phone while driving and the penalties associated with it, as well as how to use a mobile device correctly when on the road, across 5 modules and around 3 hours of learning.
What you will learn:
- The consequences of using a mobile device while driving
- Laws and penalties associated with using a mobile device when driving
- What distracted driving is, and how to teach new drivers the importance of distraction-free driving
- How to safely use a hands-free device and sat navs without breaking the law
- Safe ways to use a handheld device while on the road and what to do in the event of an emergency
This course is part of our Health & Safety training range and also counts towards our CPD courses collection.
