The implications of texting while walking are often overlooked. We all know the dangers of texting and driving, but texting and walking can be just as harmful. Accidents and other problems caused by texting while walking are becoming increasingly common, particularly because we lose awareness of our surroundings and are not as alert as we should be.
This course looks at both the readily apparent and the hidden dangers most commonly associated with texting while walking, including our increased vulnerability to accidents, the physical effects of the habit, its impact on our social skills, and how it makes us easy targets for crime.
You will learn:
- Why texting while walking is dangerous and what the most commonly associated dangers are
- How texting while walking makes us more vulnerable to accidents, particularly on the street
- The physical effects of texting while walking, including on posture, balance and walking style
- How texting while walking impacts our social skills and ability to communicate effectively, and how to prevent this
- How texting while walking makes us more likely to be targeted for crime
This course is part of our Health & Safety courses, alongside our wider CPD Courses collection.
