Creating an inclusive workplace is essential for modern businesses. Our Disability Awareness training provides the knowledge and skills needed to achieve this. People with disabilities represent a large, often overlooked talent pool, yet discrimination, misconceptions and unnecessary barriers still prevent many from accessing equal opportunities. This course raises awareness, challenges stereotypes, and encourages both employers and employees to build supportive, accessible and fair working environments.
The training explores the challenges people with disabilities face during recruitment, hiring and career progression, and highlights the benefits organisations gain by embracing diversity and inclusion — including improved morale, stronger retention and higher levels of innovation. You’ll also learn about the role of HR in promoting inclusive recruitment and ensuring equal access for applicants, along with practical guidance on interviewing techniques, disability etiquette and workplace adaptations.
This course covers:
- The reasons for high unemployment rates among people with disabilities
- The role of HR in recruitment and inclusion
- Strategies to increase access for applicants with disabilities
- Interview techniques and fair hiring practices
- Disability etiquette and respectful workplace communication
The course comprises 5 modules and around 3 hours of learning, each including a quiz.
