Health and safety training at work applies to everyone. Every year, thousands of people suffer work-related illness and injury, so it is in everyone’s best interest to learn how to stay safe and healthy in the workplace.
In this course, you’ll learn about common hazards workers face on a daily basis and discover how relevant health and safety law works in both theory and practice, equipping you to spot these hazards in any working environment and play a role in minimising harm.
Whether you’re an employer, employee or self-employed, this course provides an introduction to health and safety law in the UK, showing that health and safety is not merely bureaucracy, but a necessity for maintaining a productive workforce.
Our Health and Safety training covers:
- What health and safety at work means, why it’s important that everyone in the business understands their responsibilities, and how health and safety legislation is implemented
- Why employers must carry out risk assessments, and what they need to do once hazards are identified
- The risks that come with manual handling activities such as lifting and carrying, and how these can be prevented
- The factors that increase the likelihood of fires and electrical explosions in the workplace, and how these hazards can be minimised or eliminated
- The importance of maintaining a safe environment for employees and visitors, and the increased risk of slips, trips and falls in a risky workplace
The course is made up of 4 modules (around 3 hours of learning): Fire and Explosions in the Workplace, Manual Handling, Slips, Trips and Falls, and Electrical Awareness.
This course is part of our compliance training courses, alongside our full CPD-accredited courses. See our related Health & Safety courses.
